Otara’s visit to Muthurajawela

Otara visited the incredibly beautiful Muthurajawela wetlands and the Negombo lagoon, home to many distinctive species of flora and fauna, with Rain forest protectors SL.

She observed the many species of birds, animal and wildlife that thrive in these wetlands and met with officers from the Department of Wildlife who do their best each day to protect Muthurajawela. They stressed on the importance of protecting the wetlands and explained the repercussions of the damage being caused to the Mangroves and the wildlife that survive on these wetlands.

It is ultimately up to us, as citizens, to protect the biodiversity and the ecology of wetlands in our beautiful country.
